School Counseling Department

Welcome to the Kenton Ridge Elementary School Counseling Department!

Our department is comprised of two counselors who currently serve two of our elementary school buildings, Mrs. Molly Tonnies at Northridge Elementary School and Mrs. Wend Whip at Rolling Hills Elementary School.  In August 2023, we will join as one department to serve our elementary students at our Kenton Ridge PK-12 Campus.

We believe that every student can learn, achieve and experience success. We also believe that ALL our students and staff deserve a safe, secure, and mutually respectful environment. Our school counseling department is essential to ensuring that each child's educational experience meets that individual student's needs, from their academic and developmental needs to their social-emotional needs, by fostering a safe, healthy and nurturing environment that is most favorable for learning through goal setting and support strategies.

In Ohio, School Counselors must obtain a Master’s degree in the field of counseling and hold a license/certificate from the Ohio Department of Education. Additionally, School counselors must remain current in their field by meeting continuing education requirements.

School counselors assist students, staff and parents in a multitude of ways, including individual counseling, group counseling, academic support, and classroom activity support, to name a few.

You may contact us by stopping in our office, via email or phone.
